A little about me...Vale is a mixed breed who was found wandering a dirt road in South Georgia. She went from abandoned dirt road pup to Deputy Chief for K9 support at Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR).
Today, Vale serves as a therapy dog for our firefighters and staff. She makes her rounds at headquarters, collecting love (and treats), giving comfort, and offering up her famous belly rubs.
Vale also visits fire stations after difficult calls that weigh heavy on the hearts of our crews. When words fall short, Vale shows up. She reminds them that it’s okay to pause, breathe, and feel the moment. Her name, "Vale," comes from a Spanish slang word that simply means: everything’s okay. And that’s exactly what she brings to everyone.
To us, she’s more than a pet. She’s family. She’s therapy. She’s hope wrapped in fur. And we think the world should meet her, one beer can at a time.
