A little about me...This is Georgia (aka Georgia Mae, aka Georgia Peach, aka Princess Peach), previously known as Montana. Technically she’s not officially adopted yet, but we are counting down the days until she is. Right now we’re fostering-to-adopt while she goes through heartworm treatment, which can seem intimidating to take on, especially with an older dog, but it has been so worth it.
When she first came to us, it was pretty clear she hadn’t lived a typical pet life. She was found in a rural county during a big freeze and was likely a kennel dog. Her ears are a little torn up, she had no idea how a leash worked, and for some reason strongly prefers to poop on sidewalks (I’ve got a system for cleanup, don’t worry). But getting to watch her figure out how to just be a dog has been the best part. Now she’s a full-on pillow and blanket girlie. She’ll nudge all the pillows into a pile in the corner and demand to be tucked in. She’s got the goofiest grin, stops to smell LITERALLY EVERYTHING on walks, and gremlin-like zoomies that instantly make your whole day better.
She’s finally getting the life she deserves (she is a princess, after all). Georgia would be the perfect ambassador for rescue dogs because she shows it’s never too late to start over. She’s gentle, joyful, and learning to trust and love more every day. Always ready to win people over (especially if boops are involved).
