A little about me...
Nine years ago, we decided we were ready to adopt a dog, so we went to the Humane Society. Hurricane Maria had recently passed through, and they were housing pets from other shelters that had to evacuate. Some dogs were being loaded onto a bus to go back to their original shelter, but many remained in the adoption area, barking excitedly. Among all of the commotion, one nose poked out from under a pen door and gave a sweet whine. We couldn't resist, took him out for a meet, and instantly fell in love.

Over the years, Benny has discovered the joys of playing frisbee, burrowing under blankets, hoarding pillows, and wading in a pool on a hot day (but only the first step). Many people think he's scary, but he's truly a goofball and a softy. If one of us is sick or sad, he will become "Nurse Benny" and not leave our side, and when it comes to the vet, he's the best patient. He has his faults, but to us he's perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better boy, and we're so lucky that he chose us that day!
