A little about me...
Hi, I’m Bear. 🐾

I’m a 5-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix (at least that’s what they think—I might have a little something else in me too). I was born right here in Alachua, one of eleven brothers, in a home filled with love.

I grew up surrounded by my family, nature, and the comfort of knowing exactly where I belonged. I never really left this land. I didn’t need to.

Life changed when my human dad passed away. My mom did her best, but eventually she had to make the hardest decision—she could no longer stay here and needed to move to be with her own family. I couldn’t go with her.

That’s when new people came to look at the house.

They met me, learned my story, and made a promise without hesitation: if they bought the home, I would stay.

They did.

So I never lost my home. I just gained a new family inside it.

I still sleep in the same room I was born in. I still watch the same trees, chase the same squirrels, and feel the same earth under my paws—just with new humans who chose me as much as I chose them.

My story didn’t need a rescue… it needed a continuation.

But not every animal is as lucky as me.
