A little about me...Pookie (government name Pumpkin Pookie Pie) came to us in November 2013 from the Dumb Friends League in Colorado. Our little girl was surrendered to the shelter in the middle of the night in their drop box and found in the morning scared out of her wits. We saw her terrified little picture on their website and decided she definitely needed some love, so we traveled the hour to see her.
That was the best decision we have ever made! Pookie is a charismatic and sweet girl with a love for cuddles and running. After all this time, she is still known to get the zoomies and loves playing hide and seek around the house. While we originally justified getting her to help her human Reese's anxiety, they became codependent and unfortunately now both have anxiety. Our brave girl faces her anxiety every day, only occasionally hiding in a closet for no apparent reason (big progress)!
You may be thinking... what is she? After years of deliberation, we landed on a Chug (chihuahua + pug mix)! She easily got the best of both breeds with her chihuahua like intelligence and personality and her pug like laid back love for cuddles and sleeping in.
This legend goes by many names (i.e. punkin, ookie pookie, pookums, pook, ms. pookie, gremlin, pookers, poopie, pookalookums, The Pook, ookieschmookie ...) and is adored by everyone that meets her! We hope that you love our little girl as much as we do! Thanks for reading!
