The Humane Society of North Central Florida
The Humane Society of North Central Florida is an independent, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating the needless euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets in our region.
For more than 50 years, the founding organizations that came together to form the Humane Society of North Central Florida have been committed to serving pets and pet owners in Alachua County. Today, we operate as a limited-intake, no-kill animal rescue shelter, primarily taking in animals transferred from open-intake and managed-admission municipal shelters throughout North Central Florida.
In addition to adoptions, we provide a range of lifesaving services to the community, including high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries, a wellness and vaccine clinic, and a pet food pantry.
We are not affiliated with any national organizations, such as the Humane Society of the United States or the ASPCA, and we do not receive government funding.

Back in 2012, four friends came together with the idea of opening a brewery in their hometown. The group all had the same goal: make excellent beer, build awareness and appreciation of Florida's springs, have a great space for people to come and enjoy a pint, be an exceptional place to work, and be a big part of our local community.
SINCE OPENING OUR DOORS we've made a lot of things- award winning beer, a fantastic team, community connections, and great friends.
First Magnitude Brewing Company is a craft brewery and tap room located in downtown Gainesville, Florida. We are about great beer, an excellent space for enjoying a pint and being an active part of our community. It matters to us, and is what we strive to do well.
