Sammy is a 7-year-old English Mastiff who was adopted by his parents from the rescue organization, Big Dogs Huge Paws, when he was 1 1/2. Sammy is a "forever puppy" who always wants to play, always makes sure his brother and sister are clean, and loves unconditionally.
In August 2016, Sammy was diagnosed with Wobblers Syndrome, which is a disease of the cervical spine that is commonly seen in large and giant-breed dogs, but is also seen in other animals, including horses. Even though some days are harder on him, and he can't do all of the things he used to, he still remains the forever puppy. Sammy wants to raise awareness of this disease and hopes for a day that no animal has Wobblers Syndrome.
