Teddy
This sweet boy came to us from a Kentucky shelter and right after he arrived in his foster home he ended up in intensive care for almost a week with severe pneumonia. Even his vet wasn't sure he'd survive. Teddy must've known that bigger and better things were in store for him because this boy fought for his life and recovered and was adopted by one of our awesome supporters who specializes in older, sick animals! He is now living his best life in his second chance home!
Silly
Silly was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia, a condition where the cerebellum does not fully develop, affecting coordination and movement. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter at two months old and today she is a happy healthy one year old living in her second chance home.
Isacc
Isacc spent 21 days lying on a concrete floor in a kill shelter marked as rescue only. He had a fractured pelvis and was in severe pain. FOHARI took him in and was able to get him the medical care he needed to ease his pain. He is now well and follows his human everywhere.
Cosi
Cosi came to us the day after Christmas as an urgent owner surrender after her owner passed away. She was 16 years old, hadn't seen a vet in years, and had a tennis ball size mammary tumor. We brought her into foster care and got her to the vet, but we couldn’t even consider operating on her because she had a grade 6 heart murmur. We decided to keep her in foster care as a hospice dog but when we posted her on social media we were contacted by an experienced adopter who specialized in hospice care for senior dogs with medical issues. It was a dream come true! She adopted Cosi and Cosi lived for four wonderful months where she was spoiled and pampered and treated like a princess. She had acupuncture, water therapy, a special orthopedic bed, home-cooked meals, and the best of care. She passed away in the arms of her second chance mama knowing she was safe and loved.
Hope
Hope was found in Mississippi, wandering in a yard. FOHARI took her in and upon getting her veterinary care, she was found to be blind. She had her right eye removed in October, due to infection and recently just had her second eye removed, due to internal hemorrhaging and retinal detachment. It is confirmed by the pathology of her eye that she wasn’t born blind, but rather had significant blunt trauma that caused her to be blind. Today she is none the wiser, sassy as ever and gets around her second chance home wonderfully. She loves and is very much loved by her amazing adopters!
