Foothills Park & Recreation District, founded in 1959, serves a community of 93,000 residents in a 24.2 square mile area of unincorporated southern Jefferson County. Boundaries are generally Hampden Avenue on the north, C-470 on the south and west, and Pierce Street on the east. The District operates Ridge Recreation Center, Peak Community & Wellness Center, Lilley Gulch Recreation Center, Edge Ice Arena, Foothills Fieldhouse, Foothills Sports Arena, Foothills Golf Course, Meadows Golf Club, four outdoor swimming pools, and 68 park sites totaling more than 2,400 acres, including four regional parks, 64 neighborhood and community parks and 21 greenbelts.
