Vinny was brought into the vet starving and sick by a person who found him going through their garbage. His tail was tied with rubber bands, cutting off the circulation and leaving him with gangrene. The vet, seeing that he was still a puppy, performed a delicate surgery to remove the infected parts of the tail. Bit by bit, the vet cut until there was no damaged area left. It resulted in a complete removal of his tail.
I fell in love when I first met Vinny in Tucson. He was in a crate recovering. The vet's family already had multiple dogs, so when they saw how much I cared for him, they put him on a plane to me in NYC. Vinny is now 13 and has crossed the country with us from coast to coast many times.
