The story behind the photo
I discovered these striking wildflowers on Firelane 15, which leads to Wildwood Trail. Collomia grandiflora (Large-Flowered Collomia) is a native hardy annual. My running buddies and I had just finished our trail run and I couldn't resist running to the car to grab my camera, and back, to capture these beauties.
