Comments/Description/Why Your Husky or Husky Mix Photo Should Win
Kira, along with one of her 6 puppies (the other 5 disappeared when rescuers came back to get them) were rescued from a back yard breeder in Missouri. The rescue team found her chained up in mud up to her belly. Her coat was yellow and infested with fleas. She was transported to Illinois to a wonderful rescue and I was blessed to be able to adopt her. When I got her, she was still scared and her skin was on fire from the horrible conditions she lived in. But she still was so sweet and trusting. With excellent help from my Vet, her skin healed and she shed out her old yellow coat, which was replaced with her beautiful white coat of hair. She has been an amazing dog. She shares my home with my other 7 yr old shepherd mix rescue, Annie. Annie has been my only dog and I was concerned if she’d accept another dog in the house. But Kira’s sweet, non threatening disposition won Annie over. They quickly became buddies. I am blessed to have both of them.

I would love to see Kira selected for the calendar. She was only a year and a half when I rescued her. She already had a litter of puppies, had them taken away early, was physically abused, went through the stress of being transported to Illinois and handled by many different people in the rescue process and yet she was the sweetest girl from the moment I met her. Even though she was scared, she still had the ability to trust me. Today, she is such a happy girl who loves her daily walks with Annie and me, enjoys other dogs and people, and is my fur baby. I am blessed to have her and want to share a picture of my beautiful Kira on your calendar
