Comments/Description/Why Your Husky or Husky Mix Photo Should Win
Apache showed up at my house on a 102° day in 2012. I gave him some cool water and shooed him on his way thinking how could somebody want to lose this dog
I ended up taking him in and trying to find his owners because he had numbers from Illinois and Delaware in his chip. I thought he was an army dog with his name Apache like the helicopter, but I never did find out for sure. All I know is he was the most amazing animal I’ve ever had the privilege of living with.
He was a person in a dog suit he would look at you like “I’m not doing that “ and “Are we going walking?” and that’s what this picture is- one of our many hour and a half to two hour walks on the road around my house and this is the way I want to remember him looking into the sun, always with a new destination in mind. He was a runner and that’s how he showed up at my house. I always used to say he’s the dog that lives with me because I fully expected him to run off and go live at somebody else’s house, I chased him up the driveway many times, but he was with me for 11 years. I put him down July 15, 2023. He was Forever Husky‘s 2022 cover dog. He is up on the right there on the top of this webpage for the calendar this year. I will never forget this animal. He is the reason I have Nova and Memphis now, and I still cry every day about him. I was so lucky to have him for 12 years and so lucky to have today’s technology where I can still look at pictures and videos of him and never forget him. He was truly the most remarkable animal I have ever had the privilege of living with.
