Rules

#SAVEFURSYTH Pet Calendar Rules:
  • Photos of dogs and cats will be accepted (no people) and may contain more than one pet.
  • Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Forsyth Humane Society (FHS) or live in Winston-Salem, NC, to be eligible to enter the contest.
  • Photos must be high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) and in landscape (horizontal) format.
  • Photos must be full color. We cannot accept photos with digital overlays, photo stickers, doodles or digital effects.
  • Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible.
  • Photos deemed offensive will be removed from the contest. Please do not include political or racially themed statements or symbols. 
  • Forsyth Humane Society reserves the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason. Should this happen, FHS will notify you and if an appropriate replacement cannot be obtained, refund your entry fee if desired.
  • Each $1 donation counts as one vote for that photo. Donations are non-refundable.
  • Once entered, photos become the property of FHS to be used at its discretion for print and marketing purposes.
  • The submission and voting period will begin on Monday, February 1 at 9 am and ends on Sunday, February 28 at 11:59:59 pm.
  • Winners will be announced on the contest website at the close of the contest on Sunday, February 28 and on the FHS Facebook page by Tuesday, March 2. Winners will be contacted first by phone and alternatively by email by Monday, March 8.
  • Winners will be contacted by Forsyth Humane Society or Desilu Photography to schedule the photo shoot date, time and location. If for any reason a winner is unable to attend the photo shoot, their place in the calendar will be awarded to  next runner up.
  • Winner of the Jimmy Dog Design Group pet portrait will receive a gift certificate which provides artist contact information and scheduling deadlines.
  • Photos must receive at least 10 votes to be included in the 2022 calendar.
  • All online photo entries must be submitted by Sunday, February 28 at 11:59:59 pm.
  • All mail-in photo entries must be postmarked by Saturday, February 27. Mail-in photos should be addressed to: Forsyth Humane Society, #SAVEFURSYTH Pet Calendar Contest, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.

Voting Online
  • Each vote costs $1. There is no limit to the number of votes one may cast for the duration of the contest.
  • You must purchase a minimum of five votes at a time for a minimum charge of $5.
  • You may vote for your own photo.
  • Online voting begins as soon as the photo is registered and ends on February 28 at 11:59:59 pm.

Voting via Mail
  • In addition to our online system, voting can be done by mail. To make sure a vote is credited to the correct photo, voters must identify the pet and owner's name on the check memo line.
  • Please make checks payable to Forsyth Humane Society and mail to: Forsyth Humane Society, #SAVEFURSYTH Pet Calendar Contest, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104
  • Mail-in votes must be postmarked by Saturday, February 27, to be included in the contest. Votes received after Saturday, February 27, which may not be included in the contest, will be donated to FHS.
