Hi! My name is Caroline, and I was brought home three years ago by my then-foster mom and Forte volunteer, Kylie. I’d been treated horribly for several years before my owners dumped me at the pound with severe medical issues. With the help of the amazing Forte volunteers and friends, my mom raised the money to pay for my surgery and fostered me through my recovery. She quickly realized she couldn't let anyone else take me home, so I was officially adopted by her on August 7th, 2015. I was terrified of everyone I saw (both human and animal), I wouldn't eat unless Kylie sat with me, I wouldn't go near other dogs, I didn't know how to play with toys, and I was extremely timid and terrified of everything around me. In the months that followed, I slowly realized that I was safe. Kylie got me to go outside and walk around the park, and after a few weeks, I finally started to run around with the other dogs! Fast forward to more than three years later, and I have a TON of dog and human friends. My life is filled with love, and I hope that Forte is helping doggos like me for a very long time!
