We found Buddy at a pet adoption being held by a rescue organization called Death Row Dogs Rescue. They rescued him from the pound in Lancaster, CA who informed them that when they neutered Buddy, they also found a pellet from a pellet gun lodged under his skin.
When we first met him, he was so afraid he would not come out of his crate and would not let us touch him. Fortunately, we had brought our other dog Mojo along to see who he would pick for his new friend. Buddy and Mojo started playing and doing a little happy dance as soon as they met.
We knew they had a connection. We decided to foster Buddy for a week to see if he would fit in well and would warm up to us. After a few hours, we needed to give Buddy a bath. I was able to catch him and bathe him. Afterwards, I wrapped him in a towel and held onto him until he fell asleep in my arms. After he woke up, we were best friends and he was always by my side, and we adopted him forever.
Buddy has come a long way in the 18 months that we have had him. He is so loving and sweet and we love him so much. He is such a different dog than when we first met him!
