My name is Spike, and I’m 17 and a half years old but still up for the Strut!

Mom had two other dogs, and we made a great pack, but our pack leader Valentino left for the rainbow bridge in 2012, and my sister Pollyanna followed him in 2015. I was totally devastated after her passing and didn’t want another canine sibling or didn’t care about anything anymore. Then in 2016, someone brought Tayla and insisted that mom keep her and not adopt her out, or they’d bring her back to where she was rescued from (whaaa?). How could mom let any dog go back to where she had to be rescued from?

I never expected another dog to make me smile again, but she was such a gentle soul, and we had completely bonded. Since she was 8 years younger than I, I never imagined my life without her… but sadly, she passed in March, and my mom and I have been so heartbroken ever since.

Nonetheless, rescue emergencies never stop, and we’ve had to pull through and keep going for the sake of other dogs in need. So, this year, it would mean even a lot more if you'd vote for me in memory of Tayla.
