Tell Us About Your Pet
Jack was a street cat from a remote part of eastern Indonesia called Manado in North Sulawesi. He came to me with his sister Rose when they were tiny kittens estimated to be just 5 weeks old. Rose is also part of this contest. I’m convinced they are both from outer space as they somehow manage to do the inexplicable! I brought them home during the very beginning of Covid which was an extremely difficult process. First, I had to get them off the island we were on, and then get them out of the country, all while airlines were not allowing pets in planes. Their first plane ride was alone in cargo and took 10 hours as I was not allowed into Jakarta, and I met them in the airport there 3 days later to take them again in cargo for 10 hours to Doha and another 14.5 to Chicago. Lastly, I rented a car and drove them to my home outside of Atlanta which took another almost 10 hours. I love them and wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again!

What makes your pet unique or special?
Jack loves belly rubs and loves to lay upside down on my lap while I give them. Also, Jack was neutered in Indonesia. They don’t have physical clinics there, so it was done in my hotel room with no machines or post-op medication! The vets did it all by feel!

What is your pet’s favorite hobby?
Loving me of course!
