Pet's Story
Coda was a 6 y.o. stray white GSD who was picked up by the police in Otero County & taken to La Junta Animal Control. She was transported by Highway 50 Freedom Ride & was the first dog off the van because she was so nervous & agitated. We had many challenges in the first few months (fleas, ticks, skunk, destruction due to separation anxiety, aggression toward men, didn’t know any commands, killed a rabbit… ) so finding an adopter couldn’t happen soon enough! The first year she rarely wagged her tail or showed any signs of happiness. The Good Dog Rescue was phenomenal in their support & with a lot of training & patience, we’re now a very happy foster fail! She now rolls over in the backyard and enjoys playing. I can’t express enough thanks to all the volunteers who saved this precious dog & many others.
