What activities do you enjoy doing together?
Eric and Benson are best of friends. They have been together for 8 years. They go on walks everyday where Benson tries, but always fails, to catch any squirrels. But Eric continues to encourage him that one day he will get one! They both love watching TV together. Any time an animal (real or animated) is shown, Benson gets up, goes to the TV and barks. His favorite commercial is with the Geico Gecko and his favorite TV show is Cops when the K-9 units are involved. Also while watching TV, Benson loves when Eric sits him up and rubs his belly, as shown in the picture. Benson LOVES the water. Eric will take him to the lake where he will throw his toy out in the water and Benson dives off the dock to catch it. We even entered him into a dock diving contest, but that didn't work out so well. Benson loves car rides and sits in the front seat with his dad, his head out the window, taking in all the smells! They truly are a match made in heaven!

Why should we vote for you?
Eric adopted Benson when he was a puppy from a high kill shelter. We don't know what happened before he came to Eric, but it must have been bad. He coward in the corner, under the kitchen table for a week. Finally feeling safe with Eric, he started to come out and be a real puppy. But Benson is still very shy and timid with people. Eric gives Benson unconditional love continuing to show him that there are good people in the world who are kind. The bond they share together is something truly amazing. When Eric leaves the house, Benson patiently sits and stares out the door, waiting for him to come back home. And every time he comes home, Benson jumps up and squeals like he hasn't seen him in years, though he was only gone for 10 minutes. You can see all his emotion through his big brown eyes. When he wants something from you (most of the time it's some food), he stares at you like he's staring into your soul and you give in every time. He is a loyal and kind dog who gives everything he has in loving his dad!
