Fun Fact
Archie was rescued from GHFR in 2016 and Chickie in 2017. They were the best of friends and quite the pair. We lost Archie after a long battle with chronic renal failure that developed following keratoma surgery. He taught us the compassion and patience needed to care for a pet with chronic illness. Little did we know how important that would be just a year later when our precious Chickie developed laminitis. Despite a heroic effort to save her, we had to say goodbye shortly after Christmas. These two beautiful, smart, resilient horses reminded me that I love the Saddlebred breed above all others, that rescue allows us the opportunity to give and receive unconditional love, and that above all else, God is always in control and supporting us through the storms of life. Our memories are richer and our lives sweeter because we had the privilege to love these two incredible horses.
