Pet's Story or Bio
A New Leash on Life had posted Bo's picture on Facebook, October 2013. He looked so much like our first dog, Barney, who we had gotten when we were first married in 1980. After seeing him, I immediately went to Huntsville Animal Services and adopted him! Bo is a German Shepherd/ Border Collie Mix. Dr. Eidt, our veterinarian, estimates that he is now between 4 to 5 years old. People say that I rescued him, but actually he rescued me! He stayed by my side after my spine surgery, which was performed three months after we got him. He walked patiently with me while I recuperated and started walking. He is truly a gift from God! He came to us already trained, loving and happy! We have never had a dog that we could take anywhere, whether outdoor restaurants, dog parks or even vacations. Where ever we go, he makes many friends, young and old! Bo was presented this year at the GHHS Dog Ball and just recently passed the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Class with flying colors! Bo may start classes to be a Therapy Partner soon, everyone tells us he would be great in this role. We are sorry that he was left at the pound and will always wonder how someone could give him up, but we will always be grateful to God that he came into our lives. Life is so much better with him! I love my best buddy, Bo!
