Please give a brief story about your pet – was it a rescue, hard-luck story, special needs, etc
Amber Gifford Jones is almost 10 years old; adopted by us from Gifford in 2014. Adventurous, Amber was born in Dorchester, MA; lived in 2 shelters and needed eyelid surgery twice. Fortunately, Gifford rescued her, and made sure she received a needed second surgery and caring rehab. Both were successful. We were in search of a unique cat in 2014 and found her in Amber. Her coloring is unusual with an orange-ish (Amber) mask and multi-color stripes. She has polydactyl paws, giving them a mitten look. She loves her stuffed toys; being scritched around her face and neck; cuddling with us (which took a long time and much patience). She has made the move with us from the ‘burbs of Boston to a village in Maine, where the friends she looks for daily are the birds; a herd of deer and her neighbor, a hound dog named Bentley, who looks for Amber in the window every day on his daily walks. Do you blame Bentley?
