Little Liza rescued me at Gifford when, still feeling the heartbreak of losing my previous rescue, I went to commune with the cats, with no particular expectations. I was ready to leave dejectedly in the final minutes before closing, when a staffer told me I should take a look at one more cat who'd just come to the adoption floor — an 8-month-old stray from Miami who was hiding in a clamshell bed but poked her head out to greet me. The second I saw those eyes, I immediately fell in love. Before the staff could even give me her specifics, I asked to adopt her. I didn't know it then but to add to her cuteness, she barely has a voice and mostly squeaks in adorable fashion! Adopting her is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. She has been a daily delight ever since adjusting to her new forever home, and we have bonded tremendously. She is a Gifford gem!
