Please give a brief story about your pet – was it a rescue, hard-luck story, special needs, etc
Mango was rescued in August from a tiny cage with barely any bedding and no other enrichment. The fur on his nose was rubbed off, likely from trying to escape, and his lovely skirt was greasy and disheveled from having no sand to bathe in. I adopted him from the rescue who picked him up, and his coat was much cleaner and fluffier from his clean enclosure and an improvement in diet. Now he enjoys two large sandbaths and a daily selection of fresh vegetables alongside a healthier main food mix with much more variety. He's shy, but he's warming up to his new home (assisted by hand-fed tofu treats, his favorite food!), and his skirt is beautiful and fluffy again!
