Please give a brief story about your pet – was it a rescue, hard-luck story, special needs, etc
I rescued one year olds Lily (center) and her littermate Cocoa (right) Christmas Eve 2008 shortly after Ben (left) and I lost his sister Sam (my first rescue pair). The girls were abandoned by folks who lost their home in the 2008 financial crisis. Cocoa and Lily loved their old man Ben (12 years their elder), and he was very tolerant of the "little barbarians". My sweet lilac point girl was the happ, happ, happiest kitty I have ever known. Her vet said she never, ever heard Lily's heartbeat because, even on the examination table, Lily was constantly purring. When Ben and Cocoa passed, I rescued blue point littermates Vincent and Theo from the Gifford Cat Shelter. No surprise, Lily quickly adopted her new stepbrothers; they fast became an inseparable triumvirate of Meezers!
