I adopted Lexi about 2 1/2 years ago from the Gifford Animal Shelter. She was known as Kitty then. She was the only cat who didn’t have someone coming to see her. She was shy and seemed somewhat traumatized, perhaps from her journey from Florida. But there was no mistaking her beauty and response to a gentle touch. It was the wisdom of her eyes that drew me, as well as her velvet coat. Now she is a playful cuddle buddy. She loves to snuggle, play fetch and watch tv. Earning her trust and love has been one of my most rewarding experiences with an animal. Her beauty is undeniable in this photo. A vote for her would be a signal that even the most shy and overlooked animals can open up and reveal their best personalities with love and patience.
