Your Pet's Bio or Adoption Story
We live in California and were enjoying a fabulous Caribbean cruise with a port stop in Tortola. We proceeded off the ship excited for our day excursion to board a catamaran, taking us to our beach day at Jost Van Dyke. Little did we know we were about to meet the cutest puppy who we now call our own. Our catamaran driver Claudia was fostering this puppy as he was previously poorly treated during the first few months of his life. Dumped in the shelter of Tortola with little to no chance of surviving. He was young, scared , sick with parvovirus, ticks, fleas, worms and starving. Saved by Good Karma Pet Rescue and PAWS of the BVI Claudia gave him love, shelter and nutrition. Taking him on her excursion tours daily. This is how we met. I immediately felt a connection and desire to adopt this sweet little boy and bring him home to California. When we got back on the ship I immediately starting fillling out an adoption form online. As the trip was ending and we were at the airport heading home I received a call from Good Karma Rescue telling me they have accepted my application and when he is ready to travel we can come back and get him. That is exactly what we did. Three weeks later my wonderful husband boarded a red-eye to Florida and met up with Good Karma for the adoption. We named him Rocky for the champ and fighter he is. He loves his new life here in California and especially his new big brother Charlie (our yellow lab). This was meant to be. Thank you Good Karma Rescue! We are forever grateful to you and all you do.
