Your Pet's Bio or Adoption StoryWe had just lost our girl Leclair on 8/12/14. We had two older cats Brady and Chloe, who were 9. Jennifer from A Rainbow Crossing called and said "I know you just lost Leclair, but I have a friend who is looking for a home for a kitten that she found in a truck engine (Hemi)". She said if the finder couldn't find a home in the next week, he was scheduled to be shipped to Chicago. The finder just really wanted someone local to adopt him. We said sure sight unseen. When he was brought to us, we both laughed. He looked just like our oldest boy Brady, who was about 18 lbs! I tried to attach a pic here of them both at that time, but couldn't do it. It's so comical!
Spencer was extremely shy when he came to us. And not very affectionate. He definitely was not a lap cat. He has made great strides in accepting us as his people now. He speaks to us and allows us to pet and hold him and he sleeps with us in the bed at night.
It also helped that we got him some playmates closer to his age. Tucker and Sophie have helped him come out of his shell.
Spencer enjoys the laser, and playing with his pom poms. He also loves the outdoors. He lays at the screened in pool area and watches for lizards, birds and such. The highest level in the cat tree is usually where you will find him napping. He loves all kinds of food, but his all time fav is crab.
We couldn't be happier with our boy and it has been rewarding to see his progress in trusting us.
