Thank you for your interest in the Good Karma Pet Rescue 2018 Calendar Photo Contest!
Photo Eligibility
- Photos must contain at least 1 Good Karma Pet Rescue foster or adopted cat/dog to win the Grand Prize and to be featured as the "Pet of the Month"
- Photos of non-Good Karma rescue pets can be submitted to qualify for their own category and prize!
- Photos may contain one or multiple pets
- Photos must be in color AND high resolution
- Photos must contain only pets (no people)
- Photos must be horizontal (landscape) format
- Photographs must either feature pets owned by the entrant, OR the entrant must have permission from the pet's owner to submit their pet's image, AND must own the copyright to the photograph.
Good Karma Pet Rescue reserves the right to deny any photo submission for any reason and a full refund of the entry donation will be provided.
Tips for Taking a “Calendar Worthy” Picture
- Get your pet to look at the camera, preferably at eye level.
- Try to shoot in natural light instead of relying on your flash.
- Avoid heavily cluttered backgrounds; you want the focus to be your pet.
- Beware of shooting in direct sunlight as it increases shadows.
- If your pet is dark colored, take the photo in front of a lighter background.
- If your pet is light colored, take the photo in front of a darker background.

Entry Fee & Period
Each photo entry is a $15 tax deductible donation to Good Karma Pet Rescue.
Have more than one pet or great photo to share? We encourage multiple entries!
You can submit your photos to the content starting Monday, June 19th at 8:00am until August 4th at 8:00pm.
We will try to fit as many photo entries as possible within the calendar, in addition to the 12 cats and dogs with the most votes that will be featured as the "Pet of the Month"!
Voting
Voting will begin on June 19th at 8:00am EST and end on August 18th at 8:00pm EST.
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum $5 tax-deductible donation for 5 votes.
