Parker is a Schnaupin - half mini-Schnauzer and half mini-Pinscher, which we learned after getting his DNA tested soon after we adopted him. Parker was a rescue who was found abandoned in a rainstorm with no collar, no chip, and not neutered. He was taken into the shelter by a woman who already had 4 dogs and couldn't keep him.

Parker turned out to be the sweetest, most affectionate dog we've owned in 40 years. He's never needed any kind of training. The first night with us, he somehow escaped from his locked kennel, bounded up the stairs, and jumped into our bed in the middle of the night. We were too tired to get up, and he just laid down and went to sleep quietly. And he has done so for the 9 years we've owned him.
