Almost a year ago, Fiona climbed into the engine space of a car after being abandoned or lost. That's where my husband's secretary found her, after hearing crying and following the sound to a neighbor's car. Fiona ended up at my husband's office, since his secretary couldn't keep her. My husband then called me and asked if we wanted to foster a tiny lost kitten.

At barely a pound, and barely a month old, she staggered across our floor towards me and completely captured my heart. I knew she was meant to be part of our family – though we already had two full-grown male tabby cats, who were not at all happy with us for bringing an intruder into the house for quite some time! Fiona soon won them over, though, with her sheer refusal to believe that they didn’t absolutely adore her.

We already knew Fiona was an unexpected blessing, with her happy-go-lucky ways and affectionate personality, but her presence in our lives has helped us heal from the unexpected death of one of our four-year old tomcats this past July.
