Coco (previously Conway) had been at the shelter and was recovering in foster home. He had surgery after arriving and had an eye removed and many teeth extracted. Foster mom dropped him off at the shelter one weekend for an adoption event. She later said he was not adopted, and no one even took him out of his cage. Almost all of the other animals got adopted. Foster mom met me the next day outside since shelter was closed. I was sitting on a bench, and Coco immediately jumped into my lap and licked my face. I said, “Guess he now has a new mom!” He is one of the few dogs that will gladly tolerate wearing a pirate eye patch on Halloween, since he is missing an eye! Don’t ever judge a book by its cover. Coco has been a true diamond in the rough and is greatly treasured.
