Adoption or Rescue Story
Last spring I bought a house and was finally able to start my pet family. I've always been more of a dog person but with my current lifestyle I decided for now a cat would be a better fit. I went to Great River Rescue in search of my new family member. There I met Maverick and fell in love. He has beautiful markings and purred the instant I started petting him ... the rest is history. Maverick means "One who blazes a trail". Well this little kitty blazed a trail right into my dog centered heart. I now consider myself to love cats and dogs equally. My boy is an active curious cat. He loves to watch birds, chase a laser light and play with the water as it runs out of the faucet. He has brought so much love and joy into my new home!
