Adoption or Rescue Story
Wheatly was a roaming cat in Rolla, North Dakota who took to following my daughter and her husband on their evening walks. They were living in a no cats allowed home, but he kept showing up and they adopted him when they moved back to Minnesota. Lyra was one of a litter rescued by my friend. She was supposed to go to her grandson on the condition that she was declawed. At the last minute, the family decided they did not want her. I agreed to take her because my friend was leaving for Florida. She and Wheatly became fast friends when my daughter was living with me. They live in separate home but visit each other occasionally. He still thinks he needs to protect her
