The GRR Pets in Action Photo Contest is a fundraiser for Great River Rescue. Our goal is to raise funds to help us continue in our mission to save, care for, and adopt shelter pets. All proceeds less GoGo PhotoContest fees will benefit Great River Rescue.


The GRR Pets in Action Photo Contest is open to all photographers 13 years of age or greater who have adopted or rescued a pet, or their family has adopted or rescued a pet.

Great River Rescue will review every photo entry and reserves the right to reject any entry under its sole discretion.


Contest entry begins at 10 am on May 1, 2018 and ends on May 18 at 11:59 pm. Photos submitted before or after the entry period will not be eligible. Votes may be submitted anytime during the Entry Period.

A $5 entry fee will be charged for each entry.


Great River Rescue is seeking photos of "Pets in Action". For our contest, we are asking people who have adopted or rescued to submit photos of their pets being active. For example, pets could be walking, running, jumping, swimming or anything else active. There is no restriction on the species of pet for submitted photos; as long as it is your pet that you have adopted or rescued.

Submissions must include your name, pet's name, city of residence, and a brief story about your pet. Your story may include how you got your pet, why you love your pet, or other interesting facts about your pet.

The pet's name, city of residence, and first name of the owner will be displayed with the photo.

Photos must be .jpg, .png, or .gif format.

Photos should not have been altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contract, etc.)


Winners will be announced at the Walk for Animals/Bark for Life on June 10, 2018 at Diamond Point Park in Bemidji.

Winners will be determined by the total number of votes received through the GoGo Photo Contest website. Voters must donate $1 per vote. The top four vote getters will earn a professional photo shoot for their pet(s) with Photography by Trish. One photo from the photoshoot will be chosen by GRR to be used as a monthly photo in the 2019 GRR Calendar. The GRR Calendar will be printed and made available to the public in November of 2018.

$100 Photography by Trish gift cards will also be award to the next four top vote getters.

Great River Rescue reserves the right to end this contest at any time in the event of poor participation. All prizes are provided by Great River Rescue to encourage donations/participation. If the contest ends early, consolation prizes may be considered for the contest leaders at that time.

All entry/vote fees are considered donations and are nonrefundable regardless of the outcome/duration of the contest. No goods or services are guaranteed in exchange for entering or voting in this contest.


If you choose to include people in your submission, you are responsible for obtaining permission from those people.

Pets do not need to have been adopted from Great River Rescue/Beltrami Humane Society to be eligible.

Once entered, photos become the property of Great River Rescue to potentially be used for print, internet, and marketing purposes with no additional compensation.
