The Guelph Humane Society's mission is to advocate for all animals, and in particular those animals whose lives we can influence, through care, education, community support, and leadership. To achieve those goals, we provide animal sheltering, pet rehoming, adoption services, veterinary care, pet identification, a progressive spay/neuter program, and return of lost pets.
For over 125 years, we have provided care for homeless, stray, injured or orphaned animals in Guelph and Wellington County. Did you know that the fees GHS receives to provide animal control services contracts only cover a portion of our operating costs? Other important GHS activities—such as extensive medical care, spay and neuter surgeries, microchipping, training, enrichment and pet adoption—are supported by generous donors in our community.
