In the blue halter is Gracie - an older burro I had rescued from team ropers 2 years ago (with her back legs scabbed and raw in places). I knew she needed company, so when the BLM adoption group came to Wickenburg, Arizona 2 months later, I was lucky to adopt Pico (purple halter). This picture is when I brought him home and put him in the pen with her - and she's trying to introduce herself while he's trying to figure out where he is! Two years later they are best friends and Gracie has learned to trust humans a bit better because Pico just assumes everyone has come to see HIM and they will have carrots! I've also discovered when he is some distance away and comes running...he runs like Pepe Lapue (the Warner Bros cartoon skunk)! Cracks everyone up!
