Bruno is an 8½-year-old Bernedoodle who weighs over 100 pounds but still believes he’s lap-sized. A frequent visitor to Hopkins Pond and Crows Woods, he’s been mistaken for a bear more than once.

As one of the first Bernedoodles in the neighborhood, he’s been stopping traffic — and conversations — ever since.

He may look majestic, but don’t be fooled: he’s afraid of flies, suspicious of small dogs, and startled by his own impressively deep bark. He ignores squirrels but occasionally considers chasing deer — though we’re not entirely convinced he has a plan.

At heart, he’s a big dufus powered entirely by love and the unwavering belief that every person he meets is a future best friend. His paws are tiger-sized, and somehow, when he’s happiest, he doesn’t just sigh — he purrs.
