Darla is a very special puppy that came into IBR's program on 9-1. She and rest of the Little Rascal's litter were in an over-crowded shelter south of Nashville, TN. As we were working on transport arrangements, she and 2 of her brothers broke with a terrible disease called Parvo. She was so sick and nearly died but as she is a little fighter- she survived. When we finally got her and her surviving brothers moved to Illinois- she was in terrible shape. We did find she is also infected with Rocky Mountain spotted fever- so getting her on much needed antibiotics also helped her get stronger. I was determined to help her get better. In 4 weeks, she overcame her weak trembling legs and she doubled in weight. This photo was taken a month after she arrived and it shows how special and fun she is. GO TEAM DARLA!
