Calendar Photo Session
- The top 13 winners earn a professional photo session by Mike Riot Photography at a pre-selected location in the Redding area in September. *Each winner of the calendar contest will receive a 20-minute mini professional photo session, along with a digital copy of the selected image for the calendar.
- Calendar contest winners have the option to upgrade their photo session to a full session for an additional fee. Full sessions range from 60-90 minutes, allowing for the inclusion of other pets and family members from the same household.
- If you are unable to commit to a photo session during those times or find yourself unable to travel to these pre-selected locations, you forfeit your winning and the next top vote getter will take your pet's spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
- The top vote recipient will win the coveted cover photo for the 2026 calendar. The following 12 recipients with the most votes will be eligible to have their pet featured as a pet of the month.
- If any deceased pets finish in the top 13, their photoshoots will be awarded to the subsequent runners-up instead.
- The photographer, Mike Riot Photography, and Haven Humane Society will choose the best image of the pets to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.
The Fine Print
- By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all of the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.
- Calendars will be available to the general public starting in October.
- By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Haven Humane Society and Mike Riot Photography and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
- Mike Riot Photography will have the final say in winning entries. Should an entry receive votes that places it among the top 13 entries and the person in charge of that entry corresponds with or speaks to the photographer or Haven Humane Society and their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, or agents in a manner which is rude, condescending, or aggressive, the entry’s votes will be overruled and that entry will be withdrawn from the contest, disqualified, and removed with no opportunity for a refund. The next highest vote getter will be chosen by Mike Riot Photography in its place.
Reserve a Day
You can reserve a specific day to honor your pet’s adoption anniversary, birthday, or a meaningful date. Just upload a photo (of your pet only), pick a date, and reserve it—first come, first served. Once a date is taken, it’s no longer available. Only 5 days are available each month.
You may only upload a photo of your pet; no people may be in the photos. Please upload a horizontal (wide, not tall) photo. Haven Humane Society reserves the right to reject any photo for any reason.
If a photo is deemed inappropriate for a Reserve a Day image, Haven Humane will contact the purchaser to submit another photo. If the purchaser can not be contacted promptly or if an appropriate photo can not be submitted, the donation will be forfeited.
