How much is the entry fee?
The entry fee is $25 per photo.
You can make an additional donation during the entry process with each dollar counting as one vote.
All proceeds from contest entries will help us provide shelter and care for the homeless animals at the Hawaiian Humane Society.
How many photos can I enter?
You can enter as many as you want!
How many votes do I need to have my pet featured?
We want to make sure we feature all kinds of animals in our 2022 calendar. The top two dogs, top two cats, top two other animals and top two alumni with the most votes will be awarded a Pet of the Month feature. The pet with the most overall votes will get to pick which month they are featured.
Every photo submission that meets the photo requirements will also be featured in the calendar.
How do I vote for a pet's picture?
Votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 for five votes. All votes are tax-deductible. Yes, you can vote for your own pet's photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want!).
How to vote by mail: Make your check payable to the Hawaiian Humane Society. Include a note with the check stating the pet and owner's name, and that you wish to apply your donation toward votes for them in the Pets in Paradise Calendar Contest. Please also include your phone number in case we have any questions. Mail-in or in-person votes must be received by 12:00 pm HST on June 29, 2021, at our Moiliili campus. Mail the check and note to:

How do the categories/leaderboards work?
We work with all kinds of animals and want to make sure they are all featured in our 2022 calendar! The top two dogs, top two cats, top two other animals and top two alumni with
the most votes in their respective categories will be awarded a monthly feature. The overall ranking does not determine the top 13; the ranking per category will determine the monthly feature models.
The pet with the most overall votes will get to pick which month they are featured.
When does voting close?
Mail-in or in-person voting closes on June 29 at 12:00 pm. Online voting closes June 30 at 12:00 pm.
How do I know if I won?
The winners of each category will be announced via email. You can also check the
leaderboards to see how well your pet is doing.
Remember, every entrant will have five chances to be one of our featured monthly models regardless of the amount of votes you have.
How can I pre-order a calendar?

online store.
When will I get my calendar?
Calendars will be available for purchase, pick up and mailing in October 2021.
