Rules

Contest Rules & Regulations:
  1. Anyone can submit a photo of their pet (alive or deceased).
  2. One (1) photo per pet may be submitted (multiple pets can be featured in one photo/one entry).
  3. Entries can only be submitted via the official contest channel from July 5th – 16th, 2021.
  4. Submissions will not be accepted via email, social media or mail.
  5. Each vote costs $1, and a minimum of five (5) votes must be purchased at a time.
  6. You can vote for your own photo.
  7. Voting period commences July 5 at 8AM EST until July 16 at 8PM EST.
  8. One (1) winner per category will be determined by the highest # of votes received by 8PM EST on July 16, 2021.
  9. Three (3) winners will be announced via HBSPCA online channels on Tuesday, July 20, 2021
  10. Top three (3) photos with the most votes will be awarded with a prize pack and their winning photo will be featured on a 2021 Holiday Card.
  11. Winners will be contacted via email or phone. If no response is received within 48 hours of initial contact, the HBSPCA reserves the right to move on to the next runner up.
  12. Entries must include the pet's name, age (at time of photo) and a few sentences about the pet.
  13. A high-resolution version of the winning photos must be provided before Friday, July 23, 2021 to be included in the 2021 Holiday Card.
  14. The HBSPCA reserves the right to move on to the next runner up if the submitted/winning photo isn't of print quality, and or isn't received before the due date of July 20, 2021.
  15. By submitting a photo, you agree and give permission to the HBSPCA to use the name, story & photo of the animal entered in various publications & materials, including the ‘21 Holiday Card.
  16. The HBSPCA reserves the right to disqualify an entry based on objectionable content or depiction of the animal or persons in a photo. The registration fee will not be refunded.
  17. HBSPCA staff, board members and volunteers are eligible to enter and vote.
  18. The HBSPCA does not determine the winners. Winners are based on the highest number of votes received by the stated deadline.
  19. Official tax receipts will not be issued for the Registration/Submission ($10) fee, or votes totaling less than $20 per transaction. Votes $20+ (per transaction) can be emailed an official tax receipt. You must email development@hbspca.com to request your official charitable tax receipt for income tax purposes.


Image Requirements
  1. Photos must be high quality, taken at maximum resolution, 300 DPI, minimum file size of 4mb (megabytes) in size and in a generally accepted file format. Please note: most phone photos will not meet these standards. If submitting a phone photo, please ensure that your image is captured at the highest possible resolution setting. Only digital photos can be accepted, and polaroids or print photos cannot be accepted.
  2. Photos submitted must include at least one (1) animal who is the focus of the photo.
  3. Holiday/winter photos are preferred, but not a requirement to submit.
  4. No identifying images of people, places or brands are permitted.
  5. Photos taken by professional photographers must have the written permission of the photographer to have the photo reproduced.
