I felt drawn to help a husky find a forever home even though we already had a dog and cat. My daughter is obsessed with huskies so she was so excited with the idea. We talked to several adoption agencies and it felt like it would never happen since we had a cat. Then we found Heart rescue. Mindy gave us hope that one day we would be able to adopt. We drove a little over 2 hours to meet our Zoey (prior name Nova) in March 2018. We were so excited to meet her (and nervous). We fell in love with her immediately! She gave us wet kisses and joined us on the couch almost immediately. That day she became a part of our family. We had little knowledge of her past. But little did we know, Zoey had been suffering from chronic ear infections to the point where she needed surgery. We took her to a specialist over an hour away. He determined that her one eardrum was ruptured because of her consistent ear infections. It was very hard to watch her suffer thru surgery but I’m glad to report, she is doing great. I believe we were meant to find our blue eyed Zoey.
