Pet's Story or Bio
Emmie was born and raised in South Carolina. When her dog sister passed away, her family decided they didn’t want her anymore. Her owner brought her to the vet and left her there to be euthanized. Thankfully the vet called “The Last Resort,” a local rescue. I had adopted my last dog from this rescue and wanted to give back so I offered to transport Emmie to a foster home in New Jersey. I didn’t know Emmie’s story. Emmie had to have surgery the day before her transport. When we picked her up to do our leg of the trip, I saw her face and her demeanor and fell in love with her. She was and is a lovely young sweet dog who just wanted to be petted. My husband and I decided, as we were transporting Emmie, that we wanted her. By the grace of God, we got her and are still in love with this gentle soul. She is our third dog and fits in perfectly with her brother and sister. My husband , however, won’t let me do any more transports. He says I fall in love with dogs too easily. ❤️
