Sampson's superpower was his ability to be the calm in the eye of the storm. No matter what happened in life Sampson was a steady heartbeat, keeping our feet warm, staring at us with those big beautiful eyes, or putting his head in our laps whenever he thought we needed it. Sampson was with us through the beginning of our relationship, our wedding, moves, graduations, fights, all of it. The only thing he ever asked for in return was some food (okay a lot of food) and some cuddles.
Sampson passed away two months ago. Up until the end he was our best friend and our rock. He bore all that life threw at him with dignity and grace. If ever a dog was a superhero it was Sampson, just for being himself.
