I found Millie up for adoption on a Bloodhound page on Facebook last January. There were no details in the post not even her name, just a few standard pictures and a few sentences, but I immediately knew she was meant for us so I reached out and offered to drive from Weare NH to Dearborn Michigan to get her. We left around 10 pm and drove straight through. When we got there we got a pet friendly hotel room, picked her up, got acquainted, took a nap and drove back home. She couldn't have been more perfect for us. On the ride home we found out in the paperwork she's originally from a kennel in Missouri, her litter name was Stevie Nicks, and she is AKC certifiable. Also her and her new dad have the same birthday! She was 2.5 when we got her almost a year ago and she has come so far! Her obedience is outstanding for a hound and she does much better in public now. Her previous family was a young couple that were simply overwhelmed with her and had a new baby. Plus Dearborn, MI is no place for a Bloodhound to be living if one has ever been there, you know there's not many job opportunities for hounds.
Now she has 5 acres of forest to sniff, a high quality raw diet, and all the deer antlers a girl could dream of. Hopefully she can become a certified deer tracker soon!
