Tell us a little about your horse and the bond you share!
Slo Mo isn’t a fancy horse. He’s a ranch-bred Quarter Horse of unknown age, but over the past year, he became my rock. When my husband Clay was diagnosed with lung cancer and later underwent brain surgery, life changed. Amid the hospital visits, fear, and exhaustion, Mo was my steady place — the one I could hop on and ride without worry.
While my other show horses stayed in the barn, Mo and I hit the CTSSA circuit. We kept things simple, showing in POP and Equitation. He wasn’t flashy, but he was there. And that mattered most.
We ended the season as Year-End Champion and Reserve Champion. Clay, always cheering us on, said, “Mo’s not Reserve Champion Mo. He’s Champion Mo.” And he was right.
Through the tears, the stress, and the hope, Mo carried me. He gave me a reason to ride when it felt impossible. That ribbon wasn’t just a win — it was a tribute to resilience, love, and a horse who gave me peace when I needed it most.

Champion Mo — in the ring, and in my heart.
