A little about me...
I was wanting a silver Bengal cat, so when a pet fair came about in Kansas City a few years ago I went there I see what was available. At the Siamese Rescue of KC booth I saw exactly that: a silver Bengal up for adoption. He had been with the rescue for close to a year and still no one had adopted him yet. He was crouched at the back of the cage looking mournful, so I stuck my finger through the bars and talked to him. He came right up and rubbed against my fingers. The gals were astonished: he had never done that with anyone before. He went home with me that day. He was a beautiful, graceful and an extremely intelligent cat. He took to walking with a jacket and leash as if he was born with it on him. We would walk early morning or late evening around the neighborhood. He was not one to cuddle, but was around me day and night. Two years after having him, he developed irritable bowel syndrome. For the next 4 years I constantly cleaned up after him throughout the house, but I did it because he had chosen me to give him a permanent home no matter what. I knew what the end result of this disease would be and it came with a vengeance. It was incredibly heartbreaking to see such a magnificent animal be destroyed by cancer. RIP Raja: I will never forget you.
