Why should your dog win in this category?
My dog Lucy passed away in July 2017, just two days before my good friend and co-worker Kelly Wilson, a devoted Helping Hounds volunteer. My life was empty, although I didn't feel ready for another dog. A few months later, I saw Yasmin on the HHDR website. I admired her for a month, and then she was gone... I arrived home that night, and my husband, who kept insisting we were not ready for another dog said, "Maybe we should think about another dog". I cried that night, my Yasmin was gone. I called HH the next morning- Yaz was still there! A couple was bringing their dog to meet her at noon ... I was off work that day, and knew I had to be there to meet her. When I arrived, an older couple and their dog were waiting to introduce their dog to Yasmin. My husband was meeting me there on his lunch break. I was killing time, holding a cute little Chihuahua puppy and and watching Yaz until he arrived. I knew it was meant to be when the HH volunteer asked of she could take the Chihuahua puppy in to meet the other dog. .. apparently Yasmin wasn't a match. I was Soo excited.. I kept asking my husband..."are you sure you are ready? I don't want to pressure you... are you sure??" Josie came home with me that day- she chose ours to be her Furever home, and we haven't looked back! She has brought joy to my life again... I wake up with a smile, and I'm so happy to come home to her... I cannot believe she almost didn't become a part of our family- I cannot imagine life without her.
WE LOVE YOU , JOSIE! XO 🐕 😅
